This article consists of some interesting facts about  KL University. KLEF (Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation) which established by the name as the Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering in the year 1980. It was founded by the Late Shri Koneru Lakshmaiah and Sri K Satyanarayana. It was then renamed as a Koneru Lakshmaiah University.

The college became autonomous in the year 2006, and from2009 onwards, it has become to be the deemed to be University. It is the only engineering institute in the state of the Andhra Pradesh, which is permitted by the AICTE to admit Foreign nationals.

It has a flexible Academica system wherein the students can do courses in some of the specialized streams as per their own choice learning to all the major, minor, and dual degree programs. The faculty of the Institute, numbering 375+, out of which 78 are doctorates, and 150+ are pursuing their PhD is one of the best engineering institutes. The institute is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which gives an edge to it in the industry – Institution Interaction.

Location:

KL University is located in the 44-acre campus abutting Buckingham Canal, which is around 9 km from the Vijayawada railway station, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. Vijayawada has situated on the banks of river Krishna in the state of Andhra Pradesh and is even historically apolitical, cultural, and educational centre, which is popularly known as Vijayawada.

Transportation:

The city is well connected by the NationalHighways and Railways with the Chennai (440 km), Vizag (385 km), and Hyderabad(275 km). It is the main junction for the trains running from the North to South India. There are daily flights to Vijayawada from various airports like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore.

Facilities of KL University

Hostels of KL University:

KL University has separate hostels for the boys and girls with well-furnished rooms and modern amenities. The girl’s hostel is in the campus itself and houses around 600 students. The boy’s hostel is a short walk from the college, which accommodates 600 students. Every student in the hostel is provided with a study table, cot, rack, and a chair. Fan and light are also provided in each room.

Library in KL University:

The Library system consists of the central library and 13 departmental libraries, which collectively support the research, teaching, and extension programs of the institute.

The library has a huge collection of books on the Science, Management, Engineering, and Humanities that provide library services with its various divisions. An AC Central library with a carpet area of 1500 sq.mm with a digital facility, DELNET, and Web OPAC.

The central library has a collection of 220 video lectures. The library remains open on all the days of the year. Digital Library is a part of the central library with a wide range of network built up of fibre optic GigaByte Ethernet backbone.

Digital Library has 60 computer terminals to access the internet/e-learning material. It also has a CD server with 1000 CD capacity.

The central library is a member of the ASME, DELNET, MAA, ACM, MIS, Bio PharmaInternational, IEEE, Nature, IE, Computer Society of India, SPRINGER LINK, Geo-Technical Engineering, and IE.

Life Skills and Inner Engineering: Along with the regular programs, every student who is admitted into the KL University undergoes one-week special life skills. Orientation program.

With the help of this program, KLUU is producing the students with the clarity of thoughts and charity at hearts.

Implicit obedience, strict regularity, cleanliness in dress, courtesy in conduct, and speech is expected of each student. Life Skills and inner engineering teach a student about his/her obligations towards the GOD, fellow human beings, and himself/herself/her country.

Every student is encouraged to practice his/her own religious faith and to be tolerant and respectful and respectful towards other religions as well.

Computer centre:

A state of the artfully AC computer centre houses the Dell Power Edge Servers, Sun Servers, various latest software, etc. The campus-wide network has been established with a hi-speed fibre optic backbone. It has a 45MBPS internet connectivity, round the clock internet connection, totally Wi-Fi enabled campus, and e-learning facilities.

Research facilities in KL University:

Research strengths of the institute cover diverse disciplines. There are around 78faculty members with the Ph.D., and some other 150+ are pursuing the PhD. It has also secured sponsorship for the research projects from various non-governmental and governmental organizations.

Transportation to KL University:

The institution runs its own 40 buses covering all the essential points in the Vijayawada city, Tenali towns, Mangalagiri, and Guntur. Transport is available 24/7 in case of any emergency in the hostels/institution. Transportation is also available for conducting industrial tours and visits etc. A regular transport facility is also available until 9 PM.

Sports Facilities:

There is a state of the indoor art stadium of 30000 sq.Ft with the four wooden Shuttle Courts, Yoga, 8 Table Tennis Table, HobbyCentre, Gymnasium, Yoga for the Girls, Multipurpose rooms with the chess caroms, etc.

Cafeteria in KL University:

KL University has a spacious canteen with the latest equipment and hygienic environment, which offers quality foods and prompts services and caters to the needs of all the staff and students.

Career and Counselling Guidance at KL University:

A special counselling call consisting of professional student counsellors, senior professors’ counsels, psychologists, that helps the students in preparing themselves to cope up with the studies, perform well in the test, and various other competitions. This cell offers its services to the students in getting the solution for their personal problems and also offers career guidance with the help of the Placement and Industrial Relations department.

Hobby Clubs in KL University:

Wholly and solely managed by the students, the Clubs have in the past contributed a lot to the cultural life of the campus and to the cultural evolution of the students. 

A number of students’ bodies and clubs operate on campus like the dance club, drama society, literary, debating club, drawing club, mime club, computer club, music society, English press club, and painting club, etc. Students manage the entire activities and budget of the organization for the entire semester in advance.

Technical Festival:

The Technical festival and project exhibition are being organized in the odd semester every year to elicit innovative ideas and some other technical skills of the students.

Convention Centers and Seminar Halls: The University has several seminar halls for the students and staff with all the facilities.
