5 reasons why you should vote, top reasons why you should vote, why you should vote in coming elections, Top reasons why is it important to vote

The 2019 Elections are right around the corner and the race for the Prime Minister’s position is the closest it has been in a long time. These elections are projected to be the largest democratic elections in the entire world with over 900 million registered voters taking part. This will be breaking the previous record for the largest democratic elections which was set by the elections that took place in 2014. But in spite of our massive voter population, many people in India are still hesitant to apply for their voter’s ID or to actually attend the elections and vote. Which is why we want to give you the reasons why it is essential for every citizen in this country to vote. Here is a list of reasons why it is essential to vote:

  1. Voting is your given right as a citizen ever since we gained our freedom from British occupation.
  2. Every single vote counts. The size of our voter population does not play a part in this.
  3. Voting is what gives democracy its unique identity. Without voting, it is not a democracy
  4. Voting shows that you love your country and care about what happens to it.
  5. Bad leaders are elected by good people who refused to vote. Make your decision count.
  6. Soldiers fought and died for your right to vote. Honor them by exercising your rights.
  7. Every vote is equal. You do not matter less when compared to an Ambani nor do you matter more when compared to a beggar. It acts as an equalizer among the citizens.
  8. Abstaining from voting is not an act of rebellion. It is an act of cowardice and fear of the fact that your vote might not matter in the end.5 reasons why you should vote, top reasons why you should vote, why you should vote in coming elections, Top reasons why is it important to vote
  9. Voting is being a part of something larger than yourself. Do not take it lightly.
  10. Your vote can decide the future of your family and friends. Every Prime Minister we’ve elected into office has changed the country drastically and this will happen in this election too.
  11. If you vote, your family members and friends may be compelled to vote themselves.
  12. Elected officials listen to their voters and usually ignore those who refuse to vote. Make sure your voice is heard.
  13. If you’re unhappy with our government, this is a great time to attempt and make a change.
  14. Being a voter will lead to people taking you a lot more seriously.
  15. Don’t you want to be part of the largest democratic election in history? These elections are a part of history in the making.
  16. The process has become easier over the past few elections so you don’t have to worry about a major hassle when you are going to vote.

But most of all, voting in these elections will have a significant effect on you. Whether you side with any party, these elections will definitely lead to a new era in the Indian Government and it is up to all of us to ensure that we make the right decision. I’d like to close with some words of wisdom by one of our favorite authors Roald Dahl who said

Somewhere inside of all of us is the power to change the world.”

And voting is that power. The power to vote and to have our vote matter in the grand scheme of things will be our best shot at changing the world.
